How will this scheme be organised?
The scheme is being fully organised by the committee of hardhatinhand.ie. Therefore this committee
(but not the Niall Mellon Township Trust.) is responsible for the proper organisation of the draw, the
distribution of the tickets and the distribution of the prizes to the winners.
All funds generated from ticket sales by the individual volunteers will be paid directly by those
volunteers to the Niall Mellon Township Trust, so that the amount generated from ticket sales is
credited to that individual’s own account for the 2010 Blitz. However the Volunteers must return to the
committee of www. hardhatinhand.ie a photocopy of that payment to the Niall Mellon Township Trust.
As this is a volunteer scheme benefitting principally the people who sell the tickets rather than the
organisers of the scheme the costs of centrally organising the scheme must be kept as low as
possible. However, the organisers still anticipate that approx €3,000 from the gross accumulated
income of the individual €/£100 donations will have to be retained to cover the costs of administration,
printing, draw permit application processing, and ticket distribution.
The committee of hardhatinhand.ie will publish on their own website a transparent financial statement
outlining income and costs. The costs of advertising the scheme and the cost of printing and
distribution of tickets should be kept as low as possible.
It would be appreciated if a volunteer could identify/propose a printer who would print the tickets free,
for advertisement recognition on the volunteer website and on the tickets themselves, or if volunteers
could help organise the administration and distribution of tickets (e.g. distribute tickets by organising a
venue and date per county and have all county participants collect ticket there).
Volunteers providing email addresses on the application form could be used to keep them updated on
prize fund, availability of tickets etc, and would reduce or eliminate postage costs considerably.
We need volunteers to help publicise the fundraising initiative by telling colleagues from previous
buildings blitzes about the website.
Also, for transparency and to eliminate the cost of posting out receipts, the name and county of the
volunteer subscribing €100 or £100 for participation in this central prize fund draw will be posted on this
website.
Volunteers should return the completed Registration Form (to be downloaded from the website) and
enclose €100 or £100 in cheque, money draft or postal order, giving details of how many
books of tickets they require. The maximum value of tickets that will be dispatched per volunteer is
€5000 to first time volunteers and €4250 to veteran volunteers, but the number of tickets requested
should be as realistic as possible to minimise wastage of printing tickets.
The €100 /£100 payment cheques should be made payable to HardHatInHand and posted to Kieran O’
Halloran, Accountant, Unit 7 , Westbury, Parteen, Co. Clare.
